A really, really long while. I’ve been so busy and so much has happened – almost all of which is probably not exciting to the world in general. I have posts and pictures to share, but they’ve been locked inside my computer, which one day decided to quit working and I haven’t had the time or the patience to bring it into the Apple store. I really dislike that place. But the right click is stuck down and I can do nothing but turn my computer on and off. I can’t really afford a new Apple laptop right now, I’m a little too picky for anything else (plus all my software is Mac so it would actually cost me way more to switch platforms) and I’ve promised not to buy an iPad until I pass all my architecture tests. So I’m really hoping my computer can be fixed and I can get back to puttering around on it in the evenings. Plus, trying to write complete sentences on this iPhone-device is quite difficult.
It’s been so nice out the last few days we’ve had our windows wide open and even cooked out on the grill. Not that bad weather ever stopped us before; we’ve cleared off two feet of snow to grill steaks. We built a compost bin and are in the process of figuring out what to do with our swampy back yard, where to put the garden, and how to stop me from parking in the yard. More difficult than it sounds, I assure you.
Nate’s supposed to be done with school but keeps getting calls and emails and more tasks to do. He did kind of graduate in the middle of a project, so I can’t really blame him for still having work to do, but it will be so nice when he’s done for real. Then maybe we’ll have time to mow the lawn and our neighbors might like us better.
My year-long resolutions series went well for January and February. I actually started getting to work early sometimes. Then daylight savings had to go and mess it up. I’m back on track this week. March was supposed to be running, but I got overzealous and started running in February, injured myself, and it’s April’s goal now. March became flossing, which I’m terrible at. I’m always either rushing out the door in the morning or rushing into bed at night. But it’s only halfway through the month, so there’s plenty of time for improvement.
Hopefully I will get my computer fixed soon, and Nate and I will find a we’re-both-grown-ups-now groove, and I won’t be so stressed out and I’ll get back to posting.
